FERN PARK LOCAL OUTREACH DIRECTOR

Position Summary:

The Campus Director leads coordinators and team leaders to execute ministry frameworks on the ground at their campus. They oversee projects, manage resources, and care for people. They ensure Planning Center is accurate, orders are placed, partnerships are maintained, and volunteers are developed. The role balances administration, leadership development, and culture care.

Key Responsibilities

Team Care & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and train new Dream Teamers.

  • Build and sustain a clear volunteer development pipeline (from new volunteer to leader-in-training).

  • Shepherd and care for team leaders, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

Project & Resource Management

  • Manage Planning Center setup, registration, and tracking for projects.

  • Place orders for supplies and resources, ensuring receipts and reports are accurate.

  • Maintain and organize campus resources such as closets, supplies, and equipment.

  • Assist with planning and support of Central Events and Projects such as Serve Week and Back to School.

Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations and partners.

  • Coordinate with leaders and partners to secure opportunities for serving.

  • Ensure campus projects are aligned with church vision and standards.

Framework Implementation

  • Execute ministry frameworks provided by Central Directors.

  • Contextualize frameworks to fit the local campus without breaking alignment.

  • Track and report basic ministry metrics (attendance, projects, retention, hours served, new Dream Teamers).

Culture & Care

  • Carry and protect the culture of the campus team, ensuring alignment with church vision.

  • Address tensions or pastoral issues quickly, escalating crises when necessary.

  • Communicate encouragement, vision, and updates regularly to volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relational leader with a shepherd’s heart and strong communication skills.

  • Organized and proactive in managing projects, orders, and Planning Center systems.

  • Able to multiply leaders and create a healthy pipeline.

  • Spiritually mature and aligned with Journey Church’s values.

  • Experience: 2+ years in ministry leadership, preferably in a team leadership role
